Demitra Alexandria Sealy
Demitra Sealy is a bi-lingual Greek/Hispanic/Australian, actor, voice-over artist & singer based in the USA. She is best known for her continued work on four seasons of Foxtel Australia's award-winning TV show 'Meraki TV', which launched her into becoming an icon in the Greek Australian community, the Australian national cinema release of her lead role in feature film ‘Adventures of a Happy Homeless Man’ and her lead role in the internationally acclaimed series ‘First World Relationships'. Her stage credits include AKIO with the Hayes Theatre, A HATFUL OF RAIN with the Actors Studio NYC, Jason Langley’s Australian premier of CHEKHOV IN HELL and the 2015 national touring season with the Kinetic Energy Theatre Company.
Demitra has won several prestigious honors: She was named 'Actress of the Year' by one of Australia's leading publications, Starcentral Magazine. She was also awarded international recognition as ‘Best Actress’ at Austin Comedy Festival in the US and the ‘Best Rising Star’ award at Seoul Webfest in Korea . With Emma Thompson, Sophie Skelton and Guy Pearce also nominated, this win became quite an honour for Demitra!
A citizen of the EU, New Zealand, and Australia, Demitra is a woman of the world having visited 10 countries in the last three years for her career, soaking up all the artistic treats along the way. She is also professional singer with over 10 years’ experience, having received the Australian Youth Choirs coveted Margaret Nisbett scholarship.
Demitra graduated with a Bachelor of Performance from the Australian Academy of Dramatic Arts (now AIM- DA) in 2014 and has since been inducted into their 'Alumni Hall of Fame'. In addition to her training at AIM-DA, she has trained with Playwriting Australia, NIDA, The Bell Shakespeare Company, and the NYC Actors Studio.
Demitra is also one of Australia's most sought after ghost script doctor's/script assessor's.
